“Service Above Self” is what Rotary is all about and each member of the Wadesboro Rotary Club recognizes their responsibility to demonstrate this motto. During the past 88 years, Wadesboro Rotarians have dedicated their time, skills, expertise and a myriad of other resources toward improving lives in our community and around the world. Local Rotarians have successfully raised hundreds of thousands of dollars through the annual Wadesboro Rotary Club Sporting Clays Competition and previous BBQ/Cow Patty Bingo fundraisers to support local and international projects that help people in need and promote peace and understanding among cultures.
The Wadesboro Rotary Club, founded in 1927 by 17 charter members, is a part of a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. Rotary is a volunteer organization that initiates humanitarian projects that address today’s challenging issues such as hunger, poverty and illiteracy. The Wadesboro Club is part of District 7680 in central North Carolina.
In keeping with the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self” the Wadesboro Rotary Club serves its community and world by donating time and funds to the projects that are highlighted here. Our weekly meetings allow us to further the objects of Rotary and plan activities that give meaning and purpose to our membership. The Wadesboro Rotary Club meets each Thursday at Noon at Welika Lake Fish House in Lilesville, NC.
